Bessvatn
Bessvatn Lake is located at an altitude of 1,374 metres above sea level and contrasts strongly with Lake Gjende due to its blue colouring.
The walking distance from
Bessheim up to the river mouth is about 5 km, and there is a nice trail
along the entire route.
The lake itself is 7 km long and fairly deep at 120 metres. Bessvatn
Lake has been selected as Norway's cleanest lake since you can see the
lake bottom even in areas where the depth is 30 metres!
