Visitors to Sjodalen can experience a lot more than just traditional mountain hikes. Rafting is a popular activity that attracts thousands of participants each year. Gorge touring is also popular, and Sjodalen has many nice rivers that are well suited to this purpose. Kayaking on Sjoa is something else that has become common during recent years, and which everyone can give a try. Or you might want to combine some paddling on Lake Gjende with a hike to the top.

There are many rivers in the area, and lots of summer visitors come here to fish. Trout is the main catch here.There are many old pasture roads in Sjodalen, which are well suited to mountain biking. Bicycle rentals are available and an alternative option is to travel these roads on horseback.
