Activities and alternative hikesVisitors to Sjodalen can experience a lot more than just traditional mountain hikes. Rafting is a popular activity that attracts thousands of participants each year. Good companies are Heidal Rafting, Sjoa Rafting and Go Rafting. There are many rivers in the area, and lots of summer visitors come here to fish the nice red mountain trout. There are many old pasture roads in Sjodalen, which are well suited to mountain biking. Or you can just make a relaxed walk in nice old pasture atmosphere.
Alternative hikesBesseggen is of course the very peak in this beautiful and stunning mountain area, but we must not forget that there's plenty of other hiking routes you may try. Here are five other tours worth mentioning:

The season for Besseggen starts the 9th of june, when the boat over the lake starts its shuttle. No snow in the mountains anymore! Bessheim has open all time, Hindsæter opens the 25th of may, all other accomodations from middle of june.
